ART |
|
Welcome to the Art Department, where our creative students truly put the "art" in Sacred Heart! My Philosophy I believe that the arts are a vital part of each child's education. I tell all my students that each and every one of them is an artist and that they have the ability to create masterpieces. I encourage them to look at the world around them and see the magnificent colors in nature that God has given to us. I also challenge them to think differently and try to take them out of their comfort zone when it comes to drawing and painting. Classroom Rules Rules for our classroom:
Curriculum Throughout the school year we study various artists and their styles. We use a variety of medium including watercolors, tempera paint, oil pastels, and chalk. We experiment with printmaking, collage, wax relief, as well as mixed media projects. With the elementary grades I incorporate literature into the art curriculum. We currently have an on-line art gallery on Artsonia.com. If you haven't visited the sight please check it out. Parents, if you have not registered on your child's personal galley please do so.
Every now and then the children will take home a project to complete, especially if they were absent and the project is one that will be graded. A Little About Me My name is Mrs. Jodi Keim and I have spent 14 years of my life being a member of the Sacred Heart School family; first as a parent and now as a faculty member. I am truly blessed to be a part of this community and have the privilege to work with the children in an area that I feel is vital to all students….art! I am married to my husband and best friend Matt, for 21 years and we have three wonderful children. My son Sean, who attended Sacred Heart from Kindergarten through 8th grade and is currently a freshman at the University of Delaware. My son Kevin attended Sacred Heart Kindergarten through 8th grade is now a senior at Bethlehem Catholic. My daughter Morgan is currently in sixth grade at Sacred Heart.
