November 30, 2016

During the month of December, we will especially dedicate our prayers for the families of our third graders. We would like the families of our third graders to send in family photos for our bulletin board. And please take a few moments each day to pray this Christmas prayer with your families.

Jesus, the Light of the World, as we celebrate your birth . . . . may we begin to see
the world in the light of the understanding you give us. As you chose the lowly,
the outcasts, and the poor to receive the greatest news the world had ever known,
so may we worship you in meekness of heart. May we also remember our
brothers and sisters less fortunate than ourselves in this season of giving. Amen

We will have a free dress down day on Thursday, December 1st. Thank you to all who contributed to the food bank. We collected 214 items which were delivered to the Northamtpon Food Bank today.

FYI: We need your help. Many students are coming to school late or leaving early or in the middle of the day due to appointments or other reasons. If it is possible to schedule appointments after school, that would be appreciated. Missing school can negatively affect a student’s academic performance. It’s difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if students are frequently absent. Thank you for your cooperation.

To accommodate Christmas shopping, the ordering deadlines for November and December will be November 23, December 5 and 12.

Calling all families – the 4th Annual Christmas Boutique will be here before we know it! We need lots of elves to help make the weekend a success. Please go here to read about how to volunteer and sign up to help us!

December 20th is the date for our Christmas Program. We will have two performances– one at 1:00 pm and the other at 6:30 pm.
Please help your child remember his/her library books. On Monday, Grades 3,5,6,7, and 8 visit the Library. On Tuesdays, Kindergarten and grades 1, 2, and 4 visit the Library.

Message from Mr. Kevin Miller to Band Parents: We still have a bit more time to get ready for the concert; however, please remind your children to keep up with practicing. The minimum practice time is 4-5 times a week for about 30 minutes each session. Please encourage your students to strive for this investment of time.

A Catholic family who has friends at Sacred Heart needs our help! The Favocci’s have a 3-year-old son named Bobby (and 2 daughters, 6 and 9 years old). Bobby was diagnosed with a form of aplastic anemia, a rare blood disease. He has been in the hospital many times and continues to need blood transfusions and platelets often. He will ultimately need a bone marrow transplant. There will be a blood drive at Holy Family on December 11th, flier attached. If you can give blood, please sign up ASAP for a slot. In order to help this family with ongoing medical bills, we will have a dress down day on Wednesday, December 7th. We are asking for a $1.00 donation if your child participates. Thank you
